New GM Checklist

Run through these before your first scene to avoid getting stuck mid-session.

Load your campaign YAML — characters and setting data come from src/data/. If the PC cards look empty, check that your YAML is pushed to main.
Explain the Fate Ladder — before the first roll, tell players: skills are rated +1 (Average) to +4 (Great). Rolling adds 4dF (−4 to +4) to that. The adjective is the only number that matters narratively.
Name a scene aspect — every scene needs at least one aspect (e.g., Fog Rolling in off the Cove). Add it in the Scene panel. Players can invoke it by spending a Fate Point.
Point out the Fate Point pips — players start with FP equal to their Refresh. Show them the pips on their card. Refresh happens at the start of each session.
Practice a Create an Advantage roll — have a player attempt to create an aspect on the scene (e.g., Barricaded the Door). Use the Interpret roll → Action: Create an Advantage flow so the AI explains the outcome.
Know where Concede is — it's the small "Concede" button on each PC card. Remind players: conceding earns FP and lets them narrate their exit. They can only concede before their opponent rolls.
Bookmark Learn Fate — the button in the header opens 12 reference cards. It's your mid-session lifeline.
